The Quarry Public House

Soft Rock
The Quarry Public House is very new. They’re still figuring things out, but they’re off to a decent start. You can see that they’re trying to create a quality, classy, yet unpretentious eatery. But they have two significant challenges. The first is the noise level— all the reflective surfaces make it sound like a gymnasium. You have to raise your voice to be heard at your table. The other challenge is the prices. Twenty-four dollars for a burger might be acceptable at dinner if it’s a really, really amazing gourmet burger, but few people will spend that for lunch.
I had the steak bites ($18) and a 12 oz. Irish Death ale ($7.50). My friend had the soup of the day ($10).
They have a small cocktail bar that’s not quite ready for prime time, but I was told they still have stock coming in. The GM also told me they’re working on damping the noise. I look forward to visiting again when they’re up to speed.
