Morelia Mexican Taqueria

Fantastic Salsa

Throw a rock and you’ll hit a Mexican joint. The trick is finding the really good ones.

The word on the street is that Morelia Mexican Taqueria is authentic Mexican and makes its tortillas in-house. It’s located in a strip mall in Vancouver with a couple of other south-of-the-border eateries. With that kind of competition, I figured it had to be decent.

I ordered three different tacos to discover which of their meats I liked best. I went with al pastor, carne asada, and carnitas. My stepson decided on a wet burrito. Right away, they brought us chips and salsa. We both agreed that Morelia has some of the best salsa around.

The tacos were a good size, but the burrito should have its own ZIP code. I found the meat to be very good quality, though not as heavily seasoned as I would have preferred. Of course, hot sauce fixed that right up.

We came away having enjoyed our meal and with plans to return. Morelia is one of the good ones.
