Los Potrillos

Just Right

We’re very fond of Los Potrillos. They have a solid happy hour and serve a wide range of margaritas at equally diverse prices. Their bar carries more base spirits than any other Mexican spot in VanPort. They still need a few more liqueurs and mixers, but they’re getting there. For example, they’ve accommodated me by stocking both yellow and green Chartreuse.

The chips and salsa are complimentary, and we usually order from the happy hour menu. That said, they also have some excellent entrées. One of our favorites is the Arroz con Pollo—the flavor is fantastic, and the portion is generous enough to split or have leftovers for another meal. Recently, I tried the Carne Asada. It’s a phenomenal dish that just might become my new go-to.

But the number one reason we frequent Los Potrillos is the staff. They treat us incredibly well. Sergio, Tommy, Shy, and Octavio are all genuinely good humans. ✌🏼
