Kid Friendly Eateries
You can only do so much Chucky Cheese. Parents are always looking for restaurants that are good for both kids and adults. Here’s a list of places that are kid friendly. Some are better for teens and others are good for all ages.
1. Big Al’s Vancouver
Vancouver – East
A good place to bring kids to play and eat. Of course they have have bowling lanes but also a big arcade area. Pizza and other comfort foods served. Also a bar area for adult beverages.
2. Who Song & Larry’s
Vancouver – South
This location is ideal for parents with smaller children. The patio is fenced in. Which allows a kid have some mobility while waiting for your meal. Which is much nicer than having to be strapped down in a high chair the whole time. It’s also NOT a great place for evil people to snatch and grab kids. It’s a fairly long road to get out in each direction. No quick get-a-way. There’s plenty of things on the menu that work well for little fingers. Having a lovely view of the water while you sip a margarita doesn’t hurt either.
3. Buranko Cafe & Bar
Portland – Downtown
Cool indoor play area for small kids.
4. Oak Tree Station
Vancouver – East
Nice play area in the center of the food carts that offer a wide range of different cuisines. Also a huge enclosed room for when the weather isn’t great.
5. Playmakers Sports Bar + Grill
Vancouver – Hazel Dell
Playmakers has an arcade area that is good for kids to get the wiggles out before food is served.
6. Stardust Diner
Vancouver – East
My adult children have eaten there all their lives. Our favorite breakfast spot and one of the best priced.
7. Kyoto Japanese Steakhouse
Vancouver – East
If they’re able to stay in a chair, they out on an entertaining show for hibachi. Also Kyoto is one of the best deals for lunch in Vancouver. We’re taking Red Robin prices.
8. Hungry Sasquatch
Vancouver – Downtown
They have an arcade area with pinball and other cool games. Beer and cocktails for adults too. Great pizza of course.
9. Vancouver Station
Vancouver – EastVancouver Station has a large outdoor area that has artificial grass good for kids to play on when weather permits. They also have a small play area indoors for small kids.
10. Mountain Mike’s Pizza
Vancouver – Salmon Creek
Another pizza joint with an arcade area with several games.
11. Victor 23 Brewing
Vancouver – Central
Victor 23 Brewing specializes in two things pizza and beer. They inherited the fantastic Rally Pizza when that eatery closed. But they also have a cool outside area for kids to run around and also have lots of games and coloring books.
12. Wonderwood Springs
Portland – North
They describe themselves as “A family-friendly 9-hole indoor mini-golf experience and all-day cafe in Portland’s St. John’s neighborhood”. The cafe looks the part. The decor is very kid friendly. This place is well suited for small kids teenagers alike.
