Fire Closes Georgie’s Garage and Grill

A fire behind Georgie’s Garage and Grill at 606 Broadway street in Vancouver Monday night has forced the restaurant to close temporarily. Georgie’s has posted on their Facebook page “We regret to inform you that there was a fire set outside of our business directly under our stairs. Because of the damage, we will not be allowed to re-open until damage assessment is done and we receive an estimate for repairs. Georgie’s is hereby closed until further notice effective immediately.” “We are absolutely devastated by this act of violence against our business. We have many wonderful employees who this closure will impact greatly. Our co-owner is having his wedding here among friends and family in October, and instead of celebrating he is having to face this catastrophe. If you have any information that may be helpful, please message us, Call Mary or contact local Police. We want the people who did this to be held accountable both legally and financially. No injuries. We were closed at the time of the fire. We have no idea when we can re-open. Damages are still being assessed.”
