The Driftwood Room in the Hotel Deluxe is an old-school yet stylish, dark bar that plays groovy music and serves excellent craft cocktails. It’s a cozy joint that seats only about 15, but it’s one of the best hotel bars I’ve encountered. The typical hotel watering hole has decent base spirits but cuts corners with cheap liqueurs and mixers. The Driftwood Room, however, is a legit craft cocktail bar with knowledgeable, experienced mixologists. Their menu is diverse, offering spirit-forward sippers—like a half-dozen riffs on a Manhattan—to lower-octane concoctions such as their gin-based Dahlia’s Song. They even have zero-alcohol mocktails for those who want something fancy without the hooch. Street parking is catch-as-catch-can, but there’s a paid lot across the street.
