On The Down Low

Scotch Lodge is something of a speakeasy. You could walk right past it and never know there’s a bar inside. The décor is refined, with dark woods and dim lighting that highlight the colorful bottles and inspire cozy conversation. Scotch Lodge’s mixologists and bar stock are top-notch, which is why it’s one of my top three craft cocktail bars in Portland. They major in mixed drinks and minor in food. It’s a great place to soak in the vibe, sip a superb creation, and nibble on small plates. I’m a big fan of their baguette with salted butter. This spot is extremely popular, and walk-ins are rarely successful. The good news is they take reservations. Street parking is catch-as-catch-can.
